In desperation, M$ cut price of the w8.x turd-pile by 70%

computerworld points out that: M$ now faces unprecedented competition, especially from Chromebooks powered by Google's free-to-OEMs browser-based Chrome OS, Bloomberg said.

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

this seems like more of a p.r. campaign/stunt than anything else. they want to make it look like they are trying to compete with low cst devices from others when they really aren't.

how may w8 devices retail for under $250?

      and how many get sold?

even though it is used on tablets as well as p.c.s it is 20% behind w7 at the same point in its life cycle and p.c. sales are only down 10%. so since it is being offered on p.c.s and tablets why is is it twice as far down as the drop in [just] p.c. sales? this is just makeup on a rotting corpse.
