Just heard, NYC school bus drivers striking for more money and benefits. WOW, NYC says it costs the city $7,000 a day per student to bus students. You know you could hire taxies for each student and save a pocket full of money.
People, think about it. Our entire gov't system is set up to be nothing but a waste of tax payer money. Pick almost any sector and it is loaded with waste. (I am a retired gov't employee, almost any agency could be reduced 50% and still do the requirements)
I wonder just when tax payers are going to revolt?.

    • $7000.00 per day, per student? Sounds like Obama's Billion dollar trip to India...check your math

      • Its per year, but still terrible waste....

Every year, the city spends $7,000 per student on school buses, a high number compared to the $3,200 a year Los Angeles spends. That would be enough for a lot of the kids to take a taxi every day instead, and in some cases, that's sort of what happens. Bus routes have become so confused that there are often less than ten students on buses built for 60. Drivers say that sometimes they're driving a single student.
