A town in California wants to secede from the state of California?

What's up with that. They clearly reside in the wrong state.

    • Right on Siskiyou County! I mean lets face it, todays major metros dominate the landscape while the rest of the State, ANY STATE, is forced to live with the burden of metro issues and are thus often taxed for benefits they never see.
Not to mention little if any voice inside whatever State you want to talk about. Chicago, New York, Sacramento, Okaland, San Francisco have alot issue sand cost alot of money to run, thanks to UNION GREED and political incompetence.

Some guy living in far North california has NOTHING in common with those metros, not to mention the littany of other HUGE and Medium Ca Cities many of which, are either already seeking bankruptcy protection or considering such.

Someon in Southern Illinois has NOTHING in common with Chicago as far as local needs are concerned yet Chicago clearly DOMINATES the politcial landscape and therefore everything good that goes with that. Meanwhile the farmer in Southern Illinois gets a mere fraction of the very benefits those up north get from tax payer revenues that HE, the S. Illinois Farmer is paying.

While our system was originally effective when designed and adjustments have been made along the way onething is very clear, our Politics in DC are dominated by the Senate. We still have two senators per state, the same we had over 150 years ago. Sure we can increase House membership but lately, we seem to be shifting seats from population center to pop center. Thats fine but its still leaves rural america totally out of the equation........because the issues our metros and rural america share on a continual/routine basis are few.
State and FED priority seems bent toward our largest population centers with an ever growing number of issues etc. and this happens at the expense in every way, of rural America to include, the absence of a sufficient say in our political system.

    • It is not just a town, it is all of Siskiyou County in northern California. Actually they are asking part of Southern Oregon to join them….but then one hears about that at least once a year
