That's totally f'd up. You should have the choice whether you want to choose "Black" or "White". (unless you subscribe to the old idea that the black gene is stronger than the white gene, and you need to be called "Black".
The posters here are idiots. The American guideline for race is, if known, one drop of black ansestors and you are considered black by definition. Federal rule for race is: if YOU are filling out the form to state your race it is whatever you say it is. If I am filling out the form for your race without asking you, your race is what I determine.
A good example: When I was teaching I had a brother and a sister in my class. They were required to complete a form asking them their race. Joe was very, very dark and his sister Kate was very, very light. Joe says he is white and she says she is black. According to federal guide lines Joe is white and Kate is black for federal purposes. If I had been completing the form with out their input both would have been classed black..
Really you can't do it any other way..
I want to give them a call and see if you can breed them up - If you're a quarter indian and your wife is full indian can you breed her with a another full indian and have the kid get the 100% bennie package and all the gov programs?
Sort of like horses or something..
