We might as well be an aristocratic monarchy or some form of dictatorship.
To those who call it socialism to want the richest benefactors of our current rules and regulation to pay more to the less fortunate, so be it. Then label it socialism.
But when you have basicallyt 90% of the new wealth created since the Great Recession in the hands of only the top 10% (it is probably even less), something is wrong.
And I can't believe that so many posters want to defend the indefensible. Capitalism completely unbridled is not what we need. Look at what it is doing to our society.
What we need is some real violence in the streets where we see some poor person maim a rich wallstreet fat cat. Maybe a riot down Wallstreet to protest the inequity.
Frankly, I am so surprised that the Occupy Wallstreet movement was allowed to be crushed by Mayor Bloomberg and his thugs.
We need something to change the current corrupt "capitalism at any cost" philosophy that seems to be in charge in the United States.
I remember my Daddy telling me if I wanted more, I needed to get more education and work harder and longer. If I did not want to do that then I would have to be satisfied with " a hell-of-a-lot less". This has always made sense to me. Our country always meant until Obama that you could get filthy rich and keep at least most of it..
You socialist/communists/progressives/liberals just want to take from those that have worked hard to get theirs. Just like France. They just passed a law if you make a bunch you give the gov't 75%. A man must be a nut to work his butt off to give it to the gov't to give to those that refused to work hard and long.
You want to put a noose around the neck of a Wall Streeter type that makes a fortune, but when a sportsman a musician, a movie actor, a dancer, etc makes 10 million I don't hear any complaints. Ex. On the news: Britney Spears last season of X Factor was paid $15,000,000 for her musical comments for about 2 hours a week.
Most of you complainers do not make sense to me...... MO..... ,
The unspoken war that has been going on between the rich and the poor for 3 thousand years. This isn't new as you can see. It's been going on since the first production of money. Every war, every rebellion since the first civilizations in history have been about money and wealth and how to acquire it.
The bad thing about socialism is that everyone, except the ruling elite, become equally poor. No more middle class in the utopian society. This is what traditionally happens in socialist societies. Go to your history books if you don't believe me. Do your studies and reconsider your approval of socialism. Just because you want to jump into the boiling pot doesn't mean the rest of America have to follow.
MOST FOLKS DONT KNOW OR ARE IN DENIAL SOCIALISM is a way to control the little guy by pretending he is getting something for nothing WHILE DA SUPER RICH stay rich with keeping the middleclass in slavery and held down!!!
