What if the republicans are right about social security?

We should end it and find out. It seems the Dems set policy on "what if's"

    • You got to figure that sooner or later the Republicans will be right about something. But so far...

    • Don't worry, mikey. The republicans haven't been right about anything since 1958.

    • It wouldn't surprise me if the GOP made ending Social Security part of their 2016 platform.

    • Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Friday she is “disturbed and outraged” after she was informed by federal officials that not only has the government been shipping illegal immigrants out of Texas and “dumping” them in her state, it has no plans to stop.

Federal officials told Brewer Friday that the practice will continue for the foreseeable future, and this weekend more than 1,000 illegal immigrant children will be “dumped” in Arizona. Adults and family units will also arrive, though Brewer was not told how many, her office said.

Reports first surfaced last week that scores of illegal immigrants in Texas were being flown, bused and then abandoned out of state in Arizona and elsewhere. After learning of the practice, Brewer sent a scathing letter to the president on Monday posing a string of questions about the policy. Brewer said Friday what little she has learned since then has made her even more concerned.

“This is a crisis of the federal government’s creation, and the fact that the border remains unsecure – now apparently intentionally - while this operation continues full-steam ahead is deplorable,” she said in a statement.

Brewer said the federal government never formally informed her administration of the practice and has never explained it.

Brewer said she has demanded answers from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, and is again calling on President Obama to terminate the practice.

“I am disturbed and outraged that President Obama’s administration continues to implement this dangerous and inhumane policy, meanwhile neglecting to answer crucial questions our citizens demand and deserve," she said.

    • What if Mickey Mouse is gay? It seems we should stop going to Disney.

    • President Johnson moved the Social Security money into the general fund in order to hide the cost of the Vietnam War. If the system is not reformed, the government will inflate the currency in order to meet its obligations.

    • I really think the dems like that pyramid scheme.

      I mean good luck.

    • It depends on what you mean by ending it. Since there are people on it or close to being on it, who have paid into it, at the point of government guns, along with their employers, to end it would be nothing short of theft of their retirement promise. The first thing that should be done is to make it voluntary, not mandatory. Let it become a matter of personal choice, and responsibility. The both parties, should be held financially liable for the economic viability of SSI. After all the Democrats were the ones who authorized the looting of the surplus all those years since 1965, and Republicans didn't restore it when they had the chance. So their parties should be responsible for every penny stolen from the SSI, with interest, not taxpayers. They should also educate the morons who Democrats kept telling that SSI was their retirement money, instead of telling them that it was only a PART of their retirement income and individuals were responsible for the rest.

The real crime of SSI, other than the stealing of the SSI surplus, was convincing people it would provide for their retirement. The second reform, is to take the investment of the funds out of the hands of the government and place it into the hands of trained pension investors, for those who opt to place their SSI money with the government. Those who opt out can place it and the employer contribution in an IRA . This would be a much better solution, than just "ending" it, in my view.

Administration official: Calls troops who served with Bergdahl 'psychopaths'

You knew this was going to happen. You just didn’t know which “low-level rogue” member of the Administration would be the first to drop heavy rhetorical ordnance on the troops who served with Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. It turns out to be Brandon Friedman, deputy assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, who is a military veteran himself. You can bet everyone in this Administration with a military resume is being quietly felt out by Obama’s political team to see how far they might be willing to go, in order to protect His Majesty’s rapidly disintegrating political narrative.

One of the striking things about the Bergdahl affair is that literally no one is willing to back up the Administration’s narrative, peddled by Benghazi fabulist Susan Rice on the Sunday shows, that Bergdahl was a war hero captured on the field of battle. Not one person with first-hand knowledge of Bergdahl’s disappearance has stepped forward to buttress this story. The mind reels at the incentives provided to any soldier willing to do so, but so far, no takers. On the contrary, even though they were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements and ordered to either keep quiet or spread disinformation, numerous members of the unit have come forward to testify that Bergdahl deserted his post. At least two of them, Sgt. Evan Beutow and Spc. Josh Fuller, have been willing to go on the record with well-founded suspicions that Bergdahl actively collaborated with the Taliban.

      • The average person IS getting some of that wealth through work or investing or government handouts. Any questions which one Craig prefers?

      • Sure they can, it is called investing. You would rather they steal it instead?. Maybe if Obama hadn't destroyed so many well paying jobs, and created mostly low paying jobs and part time jobs, they would be much better off. Maybe, if Obama wasn't taxing every thing in sight, people would have more money in their pockets to save. The reality is government is the problem, not the solution.

    • Maybe medicare also, mikey the coward
