Union organizers have set a goal—$15 an hour for everyone.
The old-fashioned way to get a raise was to work hard and ask your boss. The new way is pressure, intimidation, and using government to gang up on him.
Democrats are desperate, as well as stupid. To make 15 dollars an hour a nationwide mandate will destroy the economies of many states and particularly low cost of living rural areas. Democrats just cannot understand that one size fits all DOESN"T WORK in the real world. It just represent the simpleton mentality that Democrats share, in their hive culture.
Yes working people need to earn a decent amount to provide for a decent living. It upsets me that unions have given up much of their power to the gov't to determine wages. Who needs unions if gov't mandates wages.
Answer this simple question. How in the world do the gov't idiots know how much any employer can pay? They are not privy to company books. Gov't has no business mandating wages. Period.
True, but what do you do about the situation the employer is obviously taking advantage of an illiterate employee. How do you insure that the worker isn't exploited by big money? Currently the hot legal issue is the dispute between McDonald's and their franchises. From what I understand, there was a dispute over the payment of overtime hours between an employee and a franchise owner.
This case was pending before the NLRB. The employee sued both the franchise owner and McDonald's the corporation as joint venturers. And for the first time ever the NLRB found in favor of the employee. You better believe that McDonald's is going to appeal.
The employer has little or no incentive to set a minimum wage. That leaves Big Brother.
WOW. What an idea. Everyone makes $15/hr. Do you think BO will settle for $15/hr/ What about the movie actors that now make $10,000/hr or the congressmen that make a mighty big bunch? Thinki about it. MO.
The old way was for the boss to offer you a nice raise for working hard. Today the boss expects you to do the work of three people for minimum wage, and no benefits. Obviously you've been cooped up in the house posting too many years to know that.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
find somebody who worked in the "old days" .. they'll tell you that that didn't work then either ...
fact is, the "boss" knows full well that there are replacements willing to work for less ..
40 years ago , when i was working construction , the older guys told me about the Depression
years ... you could shovel a ton in the morning , the rest for a moment on your shovel and the
foreman took that shovel and gave to 1 of a dozen guys sitting on the bank ... that's a fact !!!
