In the blood management area, he talked about the 5D acquisition, but never even mentioned the more recent acquisition of Global Med's software. That makes me wonder if they just acquired GLOB.OB to eliminate a superior, but smaller competitor. That would be troubling.
Back in the Fall, I was worried about HAE motives for acquiring GLOB.OB. Well, I'm not worried anymore. From the recent press release:
"The remaining 18% of revenues is derived from software solutions and equipment which recorded sales of $16.6 million (up 100.7% from the year-ago quarter) and $16.1 million (up 16.1%), respectively. The acquisition of Global Med Technologies was primarily responsible for the increase in software revenues."
Software sales up 100% because of the acquisition. That sounds like synergy to me! Note to self: Gotta buy more, gotta buy more...
