The Governor of the Province of Huasco, Berta Torres, the mayor of Vallenar, Cristian Tapia SEREMI Labour Urquieta Patricio, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Vallenar, Abdon Baraqui, and general manager Corproa , Leonardo Troncoso, and other representatives of the public and private sectors were all in attendance along with Daniela Rojas, Public Affairs Manager of Barrick.
The building includes three floors, in an area of 2,600 square meters, located at the intersection of Prat and Atacama, about three blocks from the main square of the city. The central office location supports access and community relations. Connie Chang Mai, Sustainable Development Superintendent Barrick Pascua-Lama, said that "the proximity to communities allows us to reinforce the positive impacts we generated in the Province and, thus, expand and continue to project our social programs ".
Also, Patrick Urquieta, SEREMI Labour, said "it will be a great contribution to the province of Huasco the fact that a company of Barrick category, with the size of projects being developed in the area, have a seat in Vallenar commune. It has always been one of the requirements of the Government, that investment companies have roots in the province. "
