The reason the dividend was accelerated and more of it was paid in 2012 rather than 2013 is so that YOU would be able to keep more of the money for yourself rather than give it to the government via an increased tax rate expected in 2013. Everybody was paid exactly the same amount re the dividend.. Everybody received exactly .14 for each share they held. If you wanted more dividend then you should have held more shares. If Walt did not hold all the shares that he does then somebody else would be in possession of the shares and the dividend would be paid to who ever has the shares. What's the problem with that? You can get as much of the dividend payout as you want... Just buy the shares so that you are entitled to it. Your comment:

That's a really nutty statement if you think about it. SLP was going to pay the dividend in 2013 anyway. so what they did ended up putting MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET because you will be paying less in taxes having received the dividend in 2012.
