Does the fact that Tekmira lost to Alnylam this week in their patent dispute help Marina's bid to be recognized as a leader in providing lipid based drug delivery systems? I think so. Why partner with Tekmira with so many questions about who owns the technology?
Yes I understand it will be a long process and this is not a final decision. It will take years and it will be messy for Tekmira. It will drain resources and time. Marina owns SMARTICLES free and clear.
If Marina is sold, I hope some big private investor with hundreds of millions would somehow combine them with Silence Therapeutics to produce an oligo drug powerhouse. It's a pipe dream but they would command attention.
