How could you go from bear to bull 2 days and points higher? IMHO the time to be bullish on VFC is past. This is a hold at best. I see it as time to lighten up or sell all shares and consider shorting if so inclined. If you go with your newly bullish sentiment on this stock, I'd advise you to do it with a very small position that you re-evaluate often.
You tell me right here right now who VFC is taking market share from Mr business education. Which of their brands is taking market share and from which brands are they taking market share from? They own half the brands out there..so they are cannibalizing themselves?
Who in China can afford a $400 TNF jacket or $50 Reef Sandal Mr.Business education? Ever been to China? Ever seen a $20 a month Chinese factory worker?
This is a BS rally in this stock and is tailor made for educated business pro's like yourself to buy into...at least you will get the dividend when this POS crashes to $50.
I am a retailer of juniors sportswear and accessories and I have not seen a significant drop in business from last year's numbers. We only sell one VF line...Reef, but we carry many sportswear lines comparable to those of VF and they are doing well. Based on our experiences I believe the retail environment for stylish, well-priced products is robust. Sure, divisions like Napapijri may perform less well, but premium denim still sells well, along with North Face and a lot of other VF lines.
