Soup is not growing. IMO Pepperidge Farm is growing and would be a great compliment. Frito Lay needs a bigger competitor. Who know maybe ConAgra might be interested if they can't snag Ralston. Kelloggs could also be in the hunt for an acquisition.
used to be in Campbell Soup. they seem to do well when they have a new product rollout like years ago when they did the healthy soups new single serve size , and the V8 splash. Now the Pepperidge Farm is getting alot of competition and still may be pressure from commodities but if they increase their dividends regularly then they should be a good stock for the next decade. i don't know what their sales are like in emerging markets.
