check it out...another patent play neon. they own the 'swiping' patent that used on smartphones and tablets. altucher says:
"I am always on the lookout for strong patent plays. VRNG, for instance, is going to crush Google in its patent for AdWords 4 years before Google started making money off of it. I documented that in this post."
I'll be damned....what time did this come out? Must have been after hours because NEON stock only really jumped then. I love how hey says that VRNG is going to crush Google in its patent for Adwords. I'm not saying that its going to happen but I have read the court filings and it is pretty clear they have a decent case. Markman hearing June 4th...getcha popcorn ready!
I have been thinking about possible outcomes and I am not sure if there is any way VRNG/IP can lose; I welcome the debate on the topic. Here is why: if a jury decides that VRNG/IP patents are what GOOG has been using/infringing on, VRNG/IP wins big obviously. If they decide that somehow these patents are different, then VRNG/IP has every right to licence and sell their version, which is clearly very close to what GOOG has and therefore very lucrative. With VRNG's patents on mobile, it could be a GOOG competitor very quickly, with potential for GOOG-like revenues for at least a few years anyway. I don't see how they can lose???
