assuming vrng wins the case, ...

despite the ruling on laches, vrng is more than likely to win the case because the judge denying goog's motions for noninfringement and invalidity implied that the patent was valid and infringement did take place. Now, if the jury follows the judge's cue, how much should vrng be worth? Let's take a look at the number realistically. vrng asked for 500 million for damages in the past 7 years (84 months). The judge limited them to 14 months. So, a win verdit will entitle vrng to about 80 million. Using the same to calculate the total for the next 4 years will get about 280 million. Put them together, vrng will get paid 360 million plus legal fees after the win verdit. So, that figure alone will make vrng worth 3.50. Then, there re nokia patents worth 50 cents (what they paid for) and ringtone business worth another 50 cents. So, we have a 4.50 price, very conservative intrinsic Net Value, disregarding all future legal winnings.

Now, if vrng loses the case? Considering all that has happened so far, there is simply no possibility the jury is going to dismiss the case.

Bottomline: whatever you do, don't sell. Wait for the verdict.
