He is such a liar. And under oath.
Per JCP's Form 10-K's:
-159,000 full-time and part-time associates as of January 28, 2012
-116,000 full-time and part-time employees as of February 2, 2013
And, beginning of March they cut 300 at HO and 2200 at stores - So, now 2500 less at least .
Actually, I think it was probably more than 2200 since the person I see socially said their store had several people cut.
And, last years figure is AFTER they cut all those people they kept to do the new ticketing and pricing for the new/old/last year's version of ticketing.
Johnson became CEO in Nov. of 2011. Within 5 months the chopping of the ankles was mostly done. If the cuts were done because of less sales the cuts would still be going on.
This had nothing whatsoever to do with sales. It had to do with Robbie's idea for the company. FYI, it bombed.
JCP.lapdog.man said on Jan.16:
"We're close to the 100k employed point and that's a good number."
I wonder if JCP is really closer to that 100,000 than the 116,000 reported on the 10-K.
I notice he never commented again on this after his statement was repeated back several times. Was that because he slipped and gave out company info that he should not have? It of course isn't because it was inaccurate - he said he has never lied on here.
I'm sure RJ doesn't want the world to know just how many people have lost their jobs since his new strategy went into effect. After all, whenever asked about cuts, he has always said people would be used differently - for better customer service. Or, avoided the question and said they were rumors.
Is that why he only said 19,000 under oath, and not the 43,000 on the 10-K?
And is that why they maybe aren't using the " close to the 100k employed point" - that would be about 60,000.
Imagine if the news media had that number.
How does Ron say under oath that JCP has 19,000 employees less when the SEC reports show over 40,000?
And he says no associates will be cut because they are needed to give the expertise to go along with the new shops?
