Plus they have been out for weeks. And they tell team members to not give people the coupon unless the customer actually brings it in. Sample conversation:
customer - do you have any coupons?
team member - yes but you have to bring them in.
customer - you cant give it to me? It was in the add.
team member - no. But if you open a penneys account you get twenty percent off.
customer - I get twenty percent off if I apply?
Tm - no just if its approved.
Customer -what do I get for applying?
TM - nothing.
customer - ummm no thanks. And you cant give me the coupon that in the add that you have a copy of. Right there?
TM - no I'm sorry but no.
This happens all the time. Well not so much anymore. Not enough customers for it to happen very often.
