store check in san mateo and cupertino in nothern california
i went to to both stores over weekend to feel how sales are and i was surprised to see lot of crowd and long queue in san mateo store specifically in apparel and home section.
cupertino store was OK type , it was neither empty nor crowded...seemed like macys
Sugarland, TX everyone is rich and well off.......to my surprise traffic at JCP was full of shoppers....can't wait for $10 shares and a 50-70 percent mega bounce by year's end a la HPQ, BBY, or SNE style.....
At the Syracuse, NY store there was a HUGH line waiting too get in and I paid a guy $100 to cut in. Martha Stewart was giving out free samples and a line of Brink's trucks was outside the doors. All the sales persons were suffering from exhaustion.
Yes, I was in Fremont store and first time after long time I saw queues in the store and it did not look like a ghost town as it used in last year or so. Maybe things are improving. Based on this observation, just started a position in the stock. It is risky but let us see.
Wouldn't it be interesting if the earnings surprises everyone? At least to check how bad it is, people must be going and I bet there will be some items crazily priced. I checked the online. Looks good.
