JCPenny... Do Do Doooing it wrong

I warned you guys who were buying during the pump n dump trap after earnings. It only took two days for those pumped up prices to be brought back down to reality.

I haven't re-entered with my short again yet, but any sort of additional pumping and I will go all-in short on this soon-to-be-extinct department store.

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

Buying into the hype will trip you up every time.

    • Why not do it now?

      • Because I feel there will be another couple weeks of amateur "stock analysts" writing articles online trying to convince people that JCP has a chance at recovery like they did earlier this week. These little random blogs always seem to pump life into dying stocks.

I will monitor over the next couple weeks, and once the talk of JCP has died down a bit or if it reaches over a certain relative strength threshold I'lll re-enter my short.

It think we'll see it gain another couple % before the slow decay that will start to happen. There will be intermittent days where it will lose 5-10% at a time as institutions unload blocks. I'll probably hedge this against another strong retailer (Dillards- who reported good earnings out of the weak earnings of all retailers) just in case there is a retail recovery.

        Sentiment: Strong Sell
