The bow is flooded and pulling the ship down by the head. Meanwhile, Mike Ullman is rearranging the deck chairs. It would be funny if it weren't so damn tragic. Tens of thousands of long-time, loyal JCP employees have already lost their jobs. Massive shareholder value has been destroyed. The sudden glut of empty JCP stores will seriously hurt the commercial real estate market. Some malls may actually close down because of it. Eddie Lampert will rue the shutdown of JCP. Who wants to buy a huge, empty Sears store at a mall that already has a huge JCP store??? Sears so-called real estate portfolio will be decimated. I know of three malls near my home that have both a Sears and JC Penney.
You should have bought Kodak instead - - - - - you do realize all these comparisons have nothing to do with anything - - - - you just end up comparing apples to oranges, but in the long run, none of it gives JCPenney any more money, doesn't stop THEIR cash burn, doesn't bring customers back, or improve their margins, reduce their debt or interest expense - - - - - - - - - - - - - in other words it might make someone feel better finding out someone else at the vet's had a sick dog and theirs got better - - - - - - but their dog had a cold and your dog(JCPenney) is on life support - - - - - - - - - - - - big difference !
