It's only one barometer but I'm in a major city and I've seen it mean something for other retailers in the past.
At Christmas time you could literally walk in to JCP and buy something without anyone or 1 or 2 people standing in line.
I chose a Tuesday and yesterday which was Sunday for my updated JCP check. On both days there were lines of people waiting to cash out.. Longer lines on Sunday of course but regardless... it translates to sales with a new proven CEO that knows how to turn profits.
Just stating a fact and not looking to argue which is why I don't post often. We'll see where it is in another quarter or 2 as everyone makes their own decision whether to buy sell or hold. I doubt very much that earnings will still be in the #$%$00 + range with this CEO at the helm moving it towards profitability. Check this post in 6 months!
