End of the quarter, want to update Quicken, etc, unable to log in. Call customer service, I am told yes this is a problem, we don't know when it will be fixed, we don't know why the website does not indicate an issue, and finally, just try again tomorrow. Gives you a very safe secure feeling
I have been talking with them for 2 yrs now on their web site and trading platform problems without any success, just got off the phone with one of their personnel Kristine and I felt worse after talking for a half hr. They think they can fix the dinosaur but haven't been able to do so for 2 yrs, they really need to get rid of the whole thing and get a decent website and platform. to many errors and delays, there are a number of cut-rate discount brokers with much better sites and platforms and they need to buy one of those and upgrade this. Their technical people although I was assured there top man had been replaced don't seem to realize how bad this is, they should visit other sites and find out what they are competing with as this is only acceptable because I have been with this broker I trade with for over 15 yrs. Without him I would be gone.
After the upgrade to the new site, I have had more problems than before and I just gave up trying to log into check my statement and do some research. It might be a good idea to have some assets at another firm to get some research done during the down time at AMP. I think that they want you to use an advisor to generate big fees and figure you are stupid enough to stay with them. It is a chore to move more than one account and it used to be easy to check the accounts. Now, it is harder and new registration are needed to do anything that was much easier before. The only upside is to wait to see how the new Barclays deal for savings is to work. This might improve interest rates for cash.
