Dr. Chad A. Mirkin has another company that is still private that has over 100 patents and raised money back in the day. It sells a product to colleges I think some kind of test. I'm not sure what the deal is on this but its up for sale. Lots of the same investors and synergy I would think. Is it possible or am i getting ahead of myself.
That article provides a preliminary glimpse of what I hope (expect really) will be the results of the full FAST TRAC clinical trial. Ultimately, troponin is just one protein for which an ultrasensitive moderate complexity diagnostic would provide huge value. It happens to be a sufficiently large opportunity because of the very large and very concentrated cost of overnight ER stays from chest pain, that it alone would give NSPH the footing to build out the broader portfolio.
Again, preliminary indications look good, but it is no guarantee of success. Frankly, I was thoroughly frustrated that Plavix was rejected in the US after getting CE marked in Europe. It will eventually get approved, but execution does matter. I think NSPH has learned from that experience and is better prepared to handle future FDA submissions.
People following my advice on other stocks have made A LOT of money off my calls lately (you can check the GMCR board and you will find I outlined almost the entire case that Einhorn made, sans fraud charge, over the past two months before he published it). Hopefully, some of them will realize that NSPH is the reverse of the MOMO plays. It is wildly undervalued based upon its potential (where MOMOs are way over valued in the hopes of realizing some potential). If so, we should be seeing some nice inflows into this stock...
Needs another couple of weeks to further increase my investment here. Have a couple of big bets on right now... Apple set me back a bit...
New to the board but bought some shares in the summer after the Plavix setback. Found this presentation on the NSPH website which gives a good overview of the firm and possibilites. Was able to read the file yesterday but having Adobe issues today.
Really like all the insider trading recently. Strong indication that they like the potential of the firm. Saw this recently in two stocks I own. Own ANDS which popped on Monday. About 2 months ago they redid senior managements contracts to give themselves a nice going away gift if management changed hands. Sure enough, ANDS was bought on Monday by Roche. Also own ASTX. This has been painful. Long time owner when they were Supergen(SUPG). They changed some employee contracts about 6 months ago and sure enough in April 2011 they bought ASTX, a private company and changed their ticker and name to ASTX.
