Consumers are not buying electronics, which will impact Dolby. This stock could easily get cut in half. Great company and long-term prospects, but I expect the next year or two to get ugly...and eventually a good buying opportunity. Stay on the sidelines for now.
Thanks to you guys for these posts. After not seeing much discussion - except for spam - on the board, it's good to have some gossip about DLB. I feel that all of you are correct. Yes, there may be a consumer tech downturn, but DLB is a very popular technology, much like Apple and the iPod and iPhone. It's a good buy for the intermediate term (or long term, if the stock market survives). Cheers, Jay
You're right - way too much spam on all of these Yahoo boards. I've learned to expect good earnings from DLB regardless of fear and volatility. Too many people around the world see their "gadgets" as needs rather than wants, the Dolby 3D Cinema product seems to be doing well, and I'm wondering if we could see any revenue from the new Dolby Mobile products through Nokia and LG? Dolby is the cream of the crop in this market segment - it will do just fine.
