    Dolby and Amazon speculation

From the Examiner (Just do a google news search on Dolby)

Amazon’s 3D smartphone may have Dolby 3D type technology
The "anonymous source" did say that the Amazon 3D smartphone project could get pulled due to a number of limitations - such as the cost. Outside critics have already begun to chirp up too (see the embedded Newsy video) about problems seen in similar 3D gaming devices. But glasses free 3D television is looking to be somewhat successful - couldn't these critics use the existing 3D glassless TV tech as a benchmark? A search of YouTube will bring you the voice and image of no less than James Cameron on this subject.

Mr. Cameron said (just last month) that no-glasses 3D tech will be coming to "smartphones and other devices". You may see him (in association with Dolby Labs and CPG) in the video James Cameron - 3D Revolution Began with no glasses (credit: 3DFULLHD). The gentleman from Dolby reports that 3D TV, smartphones and devices will operate using lenticular lens arrays with algorithms and are developed to have a "low cost impact". 3D content is not a problem either as Dolby has developed it for this new and (possibly) emerging ecosystem branch of technology. The multi-views needed for an Amazon or other 3D smartphone display might just be supplied by Dolby 3D.
