    Stock Split

Why has Grainger elected to not split the price. I would rather not have this much invested in one company. Any reasonable explanation given by Grainger as to why they do not want to split the shares that i have not seen?

    • Why not invest in a well established, leader in it's field that pays a reasonable dividend and makes more profit than most? It has treated me VERY well in my stock ownership. If only my other retirement accounts had done this nicely, I would not even watch them on the short term. A winner company, don't worry about the per share price, keep invested..

    • Stock splits are a completely useless activity. The only "benefit" I can think of is that it increases the share count for employee stock option plans. Increased share counts are also bad in that it increases the volatility of the stock because it's much easier to afford options on a share that is $20 instead of a $200 one.
