My wife is a long-term breast cancer patient and just started on Kadcyla at a major cancer center this past week. We had been hearing since late last year that the trials of TDM-1 (now called Kadcyla) were showing impressive results, so it wasn't a surprise that it was approved. The other treatments that she was on were losing their effectiveness, so she worked with her doctor to move to Kadcyla as soon as it was available. We have high hopes that it will be effective in treating the breast cancer and so far, it's being tolerated very well. I decided to invest in IMGN, and I guess you could say I'm all in - both financially and for my wife's treatment.
In 1991 my wife had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and it was Amgen's Neupogen & Epogen that allowed her to be given heavy dosage chemo. We felt so blessed that she investedin Amgen. In 1998 her Non Hodgkins came back and it was Idec's Rituxin that helped her survive a trial. She had been clear until 3 montha ago when she had a bout with lung cancer first stage. She is doing great and did not have to have Chemo and radiation this time. Thanks to these companies, Amgen, Idec, Idec/Biogen she is doing great. She also has a small fortune since she held on to these companies all these years. I have been playing IMGN and SGEN since I believe in their technology. All the best to your wife and I'm glad the FDA finally approved TDM-1 for her and others.
Totally agree, one of the reasons I am a 10 plus year holder here. My wife and I will pray for her speedy recovery, many of us here have had someone affected by cancer and would love to see this treatment help her and many others.......my investment has only started to pay off this past year, so I don't think you are too late to buy this stock.
The stock traded a million shares after I posted and I thought I could smell a rat with the low volume sell off early. I'd bet we'll see 16 yet this week......GLTA
