Now officially predicted to hit near Tampa is Ivan. A c-5 would be more than devistation to this area. Francis will eventually be more costly than charlie in my opinion. I have not even reported my damage yet....why bother...if Ivan hits Monday it will be a mute point. There are not even many safe places to go anymore because of overcrowding and previous damage. Ivan will dwarf both if is a real 4or5 when it hits the west coast. The population and structures here are not able to sustain this storm. Please have the fund managers run the price up again so I can get another warm fuzzy. Have management send me a generator with their stock option profits. This is not even funny any more. I am making a bunker on the ground floor and will most likely ride it out here if I can find any plywood left.
Ivan just went to cat 5 packing 160 mph winds. Maybe one of your neighboring states will get hit instead. The weather reports show from Galveston to Florida as the range for a possible landfall. If it stays in the Gulf, hurricanes really gain strength because of the warm water. The weather report shows some easterly pressure which would normally push the hurricane to Florida, but considering the strentgh of the hurricane, it may just give you guys a break. Not good for insurance companies, because neighboring states aren't part of the catastrophe fund which Florida has amassed and the deductibles are a lot lower in other regions. Next week could be interesting.
