As I posted here that it would earlier this month, (ALL) has been outperforming the S&P. Calling for it to outperform the S&P before earnings does not indicate a permanant buy signal.
In order for this move to continue at this pace, it must continue to outperform the S&P. The move up buy all financials and the market in general has been a positive addition to the fact that Allstate is now about to post it's expected positive earnings. We know any dissappointment will be harmful. Allstate will without a doubt will be attempting to surprise this quarter as it has in the past in this situation.
(ALL) must be secure above $30 on Feb. 10, if a price above the $31's before Q1 earnings can be a given at that time.
