I was very surprize at the low level of players at the slots. It is for sure the smoking ban has reduce the number of players. during this period the number of buse trip were very low compare to Midland. So in my thinking yes the smoking ban has hurt. The bottom line is that smokers and their money have to go outside away from the slots. THUS NOT PLAYING.
I do agree that Delaware is in for a hard future with the Adjacent States such as Maryland(new Republican Gov) say they are following Delaware into the good slot biz.
I enjoy the Hotel and excellent Dinning.
The smoking ban when into effect on Nov 27, 2002 so the next two qtrs. with tell the impact.
I would suggest that the smoking arear outside can be improved. The need to understand that most of the mid week players are up in age and really hard to change their ways. So if they smoke and have to go outstand at DDE areal hardship.
I believe the smoker with go else where such as Alantic City or West Va (chalestown).
This is a clear high risk for long term investing.
Rumba, Adjacent States such as Maryland(new Republican Gov) say they are following Delaware into the good slot biz. Word on the street is that happens, Delaware will expand its gaming laws to allsports betting which will be huge venture. Delaware badly needs the revenues that gaming brings in and are not going to let sister states get over on them. The current Del Gov(female) was not supportive to DDE with the request for the smoking ban exception. Therefore smoking ban could supposedly impact DDE? This is a clear winner long term.
Appears to be some resistance at 9.10. When the seller at 9.10 is gone it should be free to move up. I'm in because BOTH the technical AND fundemental indications look good. Just my opinion though...thoughts anyone else?
