    losing market share in the book market

    SR: has steadily gained market share on its competitor each and every year for the past five years. Its losses are declining and its traffic is going up. Barnes & Noble and together are the only booksellers gaining market share at such a rate as we are. We think that's because of the power of the brand. Harris Interactive rates us the No. 1 retail brand in all of America. The combination of the Web site and the stores is unbeatable. None of our competitors has both. Our online competitor has a Web site and no stores, and our principal retail competitor has stores without a Web site.
