I was talking to my UPS driver as he delivered my entire Xmas gift purchases from AMZN this week.I asked if he had noticed a lot of AMZN packaging with what he was delivering. I bought some AMZN stock this morning..
holiday sales are weak for bricks and mortar retailers...true! AMZN will most likely blow past any of the revenue estimates for the quarter. I hate to say it, but this pig is going to $300 amidst a massive shakeout of shorts, then it will be time to take it back down to the $200-$220 area imo.
Sales growth will still be solid (though DECELERATING, despite massive investment in TV advertising and multiple stacked loss leaders with ROIC once again on the decline).
What is going to really hurt (and will start to give people a clue as to the forward looking economics) will be the average order size declining and the attendant rise in shipping cost.... Hey, wait a second.... Is that possibly why Bezos cancelled the monthly Prime deal?
