Cramer: DuPont is "THE Enzyme Company"

Forgets the Larger & Superior-Managed Maker of Enzymes & Food Additives, Novozymes, S. A.

Good Morning, Bonjour, Guten Tag, Buon Giorno,

Readers, in his gushing glorification of Ms. Kullman and her troubled conglomerate this week just past, CNBC's shrieking peddler of DuPont PR talking points, exclaims that DuPont is "THE Enzyme Company". Never mind that Novozymes, S.A. is the global leader in the business of additives and enzymes. Never mind that highly reputable Danish Danisco, which Ms. Kullman overpaid for by bidding against herself for $7 billion has been dismembered and its carved parts dumped into the fiefdoms of several DuPont bosses. And never mind that much of the better talent which made Danisco a superlative operation in the first place has left the building, dodging the demoralising and creativity-killing DuPont bureaucracy.

In short, DuPont Senior Management is busy "Pioneering" Danisco. Recall that after erstwhile DuPont Chief, Tennessee hillbilly Chad O. Holliday, Jr., gobbled up Pioneer Hi-Bred Int'l, it deteriorated rapidly from being the number one enterprise in innovative seeds in the world to a second-place and second-rate laggard to superior-performing Monsanto. We believe Danisco, subjugated and subsumed into the highly hierarchical DuPont conglomerate bureaucracy will decay into inferior performance. Danisco is being "Pioneered", sadly for DuPont's long Management-victimised shareholders.

When it comes to DuPont, the superficially screeching Cramer "KNOWS NOTHING"!

Merely THE SUNDAY SIZE-UP digitally penned by one individual retail investor and long-time student of
    DuPont in decline...funfun..

    • Folks, not only is Novozmes a formidable competitor to the amputated and subjugated Danisco, but Germany-based BASF is developing into a global force in enzymes. Looks like Danisco which has now been dismembered and fully subsumed into the lumbering DuPont conglomerate bureaucracy will be facing some stiff competition down the road from the German chemical colossus. BASF is the world's leading chemical maker, largest and most prestigious, a position DuPont held long ago for practically all of the last century. We're talking, of course, about the pre-Holliday/Kullman DuPont of yesteryear. BASF is circa three times the size of the diminished DuPont.

Unlike the prissy "leaders" of the much shrunken DuPont, BASF executives take great pride in producing and marketing basic, intermediate, and specialty chemicals and related products. They don't sneer and scorn "chemicals" as they do in Fortress Wilmington. And, hey, aren't additives and enzymes, "chemicals", chemical compounds and chemical technologies? Comically, at DuPont, a public relations officer or lobbyist is held in higher esteem than a chemical engineer! IMAGE über alles.
