I very positive on the stock - or was at least until I did not receive my dividend this morning. Does this happen every quarter? I have been in and out of the stock for the past year, but never stayed thru ex-dividend day.
I called the 281 840 4000 number at 1PM Central time and got a message that I was calling outside of normal business hours. The late/missing dividend and the fact that no one was around to answer the phone makes me feel that I foolishly invested in a sleazy operation. In the past when this happened to me, I dumped the stock!!! And my prescience was rewarded because the stock I sold never did well.
hey shnuck. if you didnt get the dividend chances are you werent there the right date to receive it. or you use a south american broker who doesnt know where to credit you lol
seriously, hold the shares, the tax deferred benefit is why you should want to own these stocks
I received a call today from the IR director too.
What is edifying is the number of unitholders that jumped to the company's defense.
On my behalf, this would not have happened had I been able to reach someone - anyone - at the company on Friday. I can see no one being in the office to take a call, but when no one answers the phone at HQ during working hours, it can cause concern.
TD AMTD always pays distribution the next business day after LINE pays. My complaint is they always show my cost close to the high of the day and the time they show for the transaction never matches with the price paid according to the chart. Does anyone else have this problem?
bernard: Sounds like you just need to change brokerage accounts, yours is holding on to dividends for an extra day or two, check around with other firms, I got mine on time with Wells Fargo, I'm sure others did as well.
Ranting and raving won't solve a thing, but an orderly discussion just might.........
Third rate companies don't buy other companies for $300 million. I consult for the one they are closing on at the end of the month in Midland. Sell when you can and go somewhere else if you need to.
Well, why don't you just dump Linn?
It is obvious that you hate the stock. Don't invest in anything that you hate.
And check your broker re: credit for the dividend. You seem to be greatly stressed out so why not take a vacation.
