In his first major policy address since entering the presidential race, Texas Governor Rick Perry will lay out a sweeping energy plan Friday, which will expand oil and gas exploration while spurring an economic boom he estimates will create 1.2 million American jobs.
“My plan is based on this simple premise: make what Americans buy. Buy what Americans make. And sell it to the world,” Perry will say at the U.S. Steel Mon Valley Works Plant in West Mifflin, Penn., according to excerpts of his prepared remarks released by the campaign.
“We are standing atop the next American economic boom…energy. The quickest way to give our economy a shot in the arm is to deploy American ingenuity to tap American energy. But we can only do that if environmental bureaucrats are told to stand down,” he’ll say.
According to Mrs. Perry's recent public statement, Gov. Perry is running for president because God told him to do it. It's hard to tell if God has exhorted Perry to become a candidate because he wants him or Obama to win. I'm sure, though, that God is a conservative American Republican and despises the EPA. On the other hand, Mrs. Perry didn't reveal whether or not God snickered ironically after enjoining Perry to run. Rumor has it that the Lord works in mysterious ways, so He's possibly exercising His sense of humor.
At this stage, I think any unemployed male wanting to support his wife and family with a real job would not be too concerned about water and air.
Not only will he be able to get his pride back, and do what he is designed to be (provide for his family), he can use his income to buy bottled water if that's a major concern.
Last time I checked, our air has never been cleaner ... so get out of the way and let Americans work.
Glad to know you support the replacement of Obama for his massive expansion of ethanol mandates!
The additional pollution and energy consumption caused by government abuse to force corn based ethanol will be offset by draconian and irrational dust regulations on farmers!
Gee I wonder if better water works to deliver more water might help with dust? Give our farmers water like the Chinese do.
Modern methods in energy production can ensure our clean water - and if we ever want real energy independence here it has to start here. Fossil fuels are the smart way to get the bulk of our energy needs (as they produce far more BTU's than other methods) while also putting our people back to work, reducing our foreign trade debt and increasing tax revenues. You can beat the "green" drum as much as you like but wind, solar, and God knows, ethanol, just don't compete with oil, LPG, and natural gas.
You can include the concept for "clean" as conducive to health which is not the same as clean as defined by bureacratic fanatics destroying the economy and making people poor, with the poverty creating for more damage to health and spirit.
EPA under this Administration has moved from health as a goal to economic warfare in pursuit of uneconomic Green energy, using false climate theory and invalid modeling results.
Next Republicans debate should be limited to viable domestic energy solutions. Mitt and Newt should to explain their support of ethanol from corn corruption.
Herman and Santorum are my favorites today. Common sense - no nonsense - form the heart. Open up world markets for our farmers and that begins with China - pork and corn -. CS must replace same old tired politcal bs.
