As a side note (and I know this will sound cynical), I wonder how many calls Linn management had to make to get these financial companies to come out in support of them? I think every one has been an underwriter of Linn's bonds and unit offerings, it would be good to see an outfit that didn't have such close ties to them (Linn) come out with a recommendation.
Short sellers hurt every time there is a distribution. The next EX-date is around May 5.

If you examine the history of oil prices and energy related stocks since 2003, historically, starting in March, the second quarter is the best quarter for price appreciation. Some of that has to do with the shift in fuels and preparation for summer driving season where, for example, gasoline prices are typically higher.
Given that oil has remained stubbornly high (primarily due to the government printing presses), energy stocks in general should be a part of all portfolios. With a high distribution rate, LINE deserves to be part of that equation.
I have little doubt that the various investment houses will prove to be right about their price targets and that by the end of April 2013, LINE will be over $40 per share.
