another couple attacks against LINE by shorts

Looks like Global Hunter and Bloomberg (working together) and a Seeking Alpha author about short selling indicate LINE or LNCO are going down further. Wonder if this will all come to fruition or if LINE can buck the headwinds.

    • One thing that should help: if the Board adopts management's recommendation to increased the distribution 8.5% from $2.90 to $3.08. Based upon past history, May 3 ,2013 should be the ex-dividend date. Assuming the increased annual distribution is formally announced, the stock should rally through May 3.

      • Good Morning,

Yes it is absolutely necessary that management follow through on the distribution increase and maintain coverage in the high teens or 1.2.

I to am a bit disappointed with LINEs market performance. But to be fair we should compare to other natural gas centered EPs. In which case performance has been outstanding.

My mega cap defensives have been on a tear. Good relative earnings but also they are becoming priced relative to manipulated interest rates. Which cannot last forever so future returns will have to be lower.

But if ng and liquids do build a higher supply demand base along with management putting together stable progress in increasing 'share' DCF LINE could leap. Of course the unhedged EPs exposed to the commodity will go much further and faster.

So then the OLB will go on and on why LINE is horrible on that tack.

8% on a stable platform really is remarkable in this market.

    • For sure Barron's has gone the way of Zacks and lost all credulity with me, and the writers at Bloomberg are writing opinions not factual news. On the other hand, I have been with LINN a long time with (for me) a large holding and I am not happy with it's progress.

    • It looks pretty sad when they resort to robo-posting on blogs. I don't see why they would target Linn. It has the money to buy back shares and management makes all their money from shares. When shares get down near $36 they just buy them back.
