1- line will be over $30 by the end of October
2-It will soon be reported that 90% of the people who signed up for Obamacare the first day which apparently caused glitches, were only people who knew they have a pre-existing condition or were ones who would get it for free because they're already on welfare & food stamps.
Your second prediction was an easy one - the people you are disparaging are among the primary beneficiaries of Obamacare. The whole point is to help people who don't have a healthcare plan to get one. Why would you or I use the site?
One reason you or I might use that site is that Obamacare is taking away our current coverage that your President promised we could keep so that we can find something to replace it. Current government estimates are that there may be as many as 60 million in that boat by the end of 2014. Open your eyes!
No, I don't remember...can you give us the link to your predictions..............BTW......Most people have insurance and this program was meant for low income people who does not have coverage...keeps tham out of the ER's where we (taxpayers) have to pick up the tap(Thanks to Ronald Reagan)
Look at the date of the post. Those ARE his predictions. And I suggest you do a little homework on the reality of how this ACA is "keeping them out of the ER's where we (taxpayers) have to pick up the tap(Thanks to Ronald Reagan)" It's an ABSOLUTE DISASTER and is costing us (taxpayers) a FORTUNE without doing ANYTHING that it was promised to do. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND (or wherever it's buried) and FACE REALITY !!!
I have held through thick & thin since 08 , mostly for a 7% plus dividend & over the years by having my dividend reinvested & compounding , I've nearly doubled on line & expect it to go into the 40s by early next spring. I also bought LNCO in the mid 20s and will hold onto it also. Think about NG though as it's nearing $3.50 & a good investment in that category is UGAZ @ around 12 to 13 soon to be around 18 to 20ish, but just do your own thing though as this is not for the faint of heart.
And the LARGE majority of people signing up on the state websites are signing up for Medicaid, which is no cost to them, but another huge cost to the rest of us, not to mention further swamping the entire ACA program. Sooner or later, SOMEONE has to pay for all of this. As someone recently said, "If you think healthcare is too expensive, wait until it's free."
you don't have to be on welfare or food stamps,
there are income & assets limits for those
affordable health care act provides financial assistance based on income & age.
hence if you are old, have money but don't make much you will get a reduction(government money) to help offset the cost.
I read over the health exchanges. Here in California, federal subsidies only kick in for those making less than $15,000/year.....that is even less than SS.
The bad thing about the new insurance plans (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) is that even folks with insurance will be on the hook to pay a percentage (or co-insurance) for any large hospital bill.
Before all this, some insurance (like the one I bought) caps the maximum out of pocket cost to say a fixed amount (ie. $5000), and the insurance will be on the hook for the rest. Now, you will be responsible for co-insurance (40% for bronze, 30% for silver, 20% for gold and 10% for platinum). The higher the plan (ie.. platinum) the most expensive the monthly premium, but the less co-insurance you had to pay for bills.
Do you know how expensive a hospital stay is? A friend I know went into the hospital for 4 days to remove an infected gallbladder (gallstones), and is charged $60,000. Only my old plan, I only pay my maximum of $5000 and the rest insurance covers.....now if the poor schmuck happened to bought a cheap bronze plan, he has to pay AFTER the deductible, an additional 40% co-insurance for the bill which is over $20,000. Obamacare is shifting the hospital costs to YOU...not the insurance company if you make over $15,000/year. The poor people gets it free, but anyone making over that will have the cost shifted to you.
Jim_hairball if you are OLD then i assume you or saying people over 65--- their insurance does not change they are already on Medicare-- Insurance is set and will not be affected by the ACA ie " Obama Care"
crazy huh.... ObamaCare actually provides a "pool" for the pre existing folks. No one is signing up for it because its cheaper to just pay the penalty and just get their care for free, instead of paying the premium. I heard that and remembered all my pre existing conditions I have... Wow... that'll work! LOL
I know this is board is ONLY for Linn... and will respect that from here on out. But I had to respond.
Nothing wrong with people with pre existing conditions having insurance. We would not be in this situation if insurance companies would not cherry pick who they insure. Try buying insurance if you have had cancer.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Obamacare is insurance not healthcare.
Poor American recieve subsidies for plans with deductibles of $5,000 or more. Where does the money to see a doctor come from?
Folks lying about there income which will not be checked are getting a steal.
Insanity unless the objective is to destroy our health system and replace it with socialized medicine. Which given the results in Europe is just more insanity.
But the Children of the Corn are still here on an American natural gas board trying to delude fellow Americans with dissembling too.
