No One and the great and terrible Curmudgeon of Christmas, Jon

Christmas of course should be a time of the Light of the Spirit. A time when we; reinforced by close connection to family and friends, can reach out to a broader world with good will and a warm heart.
The Great and Terrible Curmudgeon of Christmas; Jon, began with the amusing spectacle of mocking. An atheist with a anger filled heart was pleased he could erect a tower of spent beer cans right next to a Crush. This greatly amused and encouraged his followers who now needed a justification or rationalization for such a hostile, pointless and self absorbed therefore anti-social heathen pleasure.
After erecting a tower of spent beer is an idea from a very old sitcom of another time was not originally filled with malice. This is why it was funny. The Great and Terrible Curmudgeon has been around a very long time so understands, yet goes over to the spirit of hostility rather than playful mocking, with no intent to wound. The talents of Jon and his writers are far too vast to rationalize the easy downward path.
Unfortunately, Jon did have a valid point when any one muses on the physical appearance of my Christ. It is a Wonder of Logic that we are not told the physical appearance of Christ. That as Christ wanders the land he is not immediately recognizable by the people. He must be pointed out to the Temple guards despite teaching at the Temple many times, even the spectacle of overturning the tables? It is in our base nature as human beings to desire we physically look like God. Yet it is only our spirit which can find God’s side.
In our church the art work of Christmas is by Christians around the world. All Chinese nativity. All African nativity. As Christians are moved by the Spirit around the world there is no limit. Even Sami Lutherans -with reindeer. If cultural context helps us better understand the Spirit then it is wonderful.

    • Now Santa has become the ambassador of Christmas. Over time he morphed into a magical spirit with elves modeled on the Laplanders with their reindeer charges. Laplander is a term the Chuds applied to the Sami people for their worn out clothing. Certainly it is better to be thought of as caring and magical, rather than ready slaves, as Individual Liberty were their only worldly possession, chuds’ valued.
In our Christmas play, all moved by the spirit or more wonderfully the Spirit, are happily welcomed. Certainly this is counter to the Curmudgeon’s empty beer can clan assigning chuds to our play, with the stalking horse of appearances.
We could learn a great deal from the Sami Lutherans in protecting ourselves from the vastly more powerful. After all the Lord of the secular Media Mound; the Great and Terrible Curmudgeon of Christmas, has millions of otherwise young health chuds to send out to catch us, if we dare leave our homes to share the Spirit. A child first tries to show the chuds compassion and humanity. When that doesn’t work then use their hubris to trick them into walking off the cliff themselves. (The chuds get really puffed up with themselves on the mound but they do not walk on air, as they come to believe)
Hum Reverend MARTIN LUTHER King. Majestic Civil Rights. Won over nearly all American hearts. Still he did trick the empty beer can clan. Christian repent mistakes. Heathens self justify and rationalize their anger.

That the Grinch’s small heart Grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his heart didn’t feel quite so tight,
He whizzed with his load through the bright morning light,
And he brought back the toys! And the food for the feast!
And he, HE HIMSELF! The Grinch carved the roast beast!

Roast beast! Cried the Curmudgeon of Christmas! Leave them their Liberty and see what evil they do!
