Why on earth do some of you people put such an emphasis on the dividend increase, you act like that 2 cents (if it is even that high) is the greatest thing that could happen. I would much rather the management of this company get the stock price back in the 40's than worry about a dividend increase. Does that make sense to anyone???
I would much rather see that LINE mgt has gotten its hands around BRY and have successfully merged BRY within the LINE operations. There should be consolidation of staff and operations with a 20% pop in earnings per share as a result. that will move the stock price.
As an income security it is distribution increases that lead to higher price.
For the price to go up without distribution growth that implies yield compression.
But if the distribution is raised, the price will tend to rise just to keep the yield steady.
I think there are more people in it for the dividend ..at least when it isn't controversial.
While a higher share price makes me wealthier in the present it buys fewer units each month. So for many of us appreciation is sevcondary icing
