    VOLT Commercial is hilarious.

I saw some ditzy blonde saying "... I forget how to put gas in it...."

Hilarious. Who makes this crap up? If that dolt "forgets how to put gas in it" she shouldn't be behind the wheel of a 4,000 vehicle, or in her case, weapon.

    • The sad thing here Mikey is that I answered this already. You just don't read. When I get home tonight I will find you a reference of how the car automatically keeps the fuel fres/good. Apparently you don't understand what pressurizing the tank and sealing does to preserve gas...not sure how I can example how pressure keeps a liquid a liquid if you don't know that already and that by doing so, light hydrocarbons stay in the liquid thus not degrading the gasoline.

As far as maintance mode...I posted a link that explains it...guess you didn't want thread it...

I will spoon feed you later...

    • The age group the Volt appeals to may like the ad, A LOT.

Big ad agencies don't do these ads without doing "focus groups" on the target market first, in the middle, and after the ad is done. Mistakes are too expensive (ad time at networks costly), while focus groups are cheap.

ULTRA-URBAN TARGET MARKET. People in big dense cities (where "early adopters" of EVs and hybrid plugins are most likely to be) do a lot of Metro riding to get to work.

They may tend to drive the car around jUST for errands 2-4 times a week. They might have a short drive to a "park-and-ride" lot to catch the metro. Driving too little, they don't fill up that often. They thus can easily be surprised to discover they did not fill the tank back up when they should have.

PLUS-- Lots of people simply don't like having to stop at a gas station to put gas in their cars. My daughter is one.

It's the only complaint you'll hear from her about the Ford Fiesta she otherwise loves, "I have to fill it up. i don't have to do that if I ride the Metro. Next time I buy, it will be a hybrid. [Golden opportunity!, Mom interjected, 'Did you know they make hybrids that plug-in? Then, you can maybe go a REALLY long-time between fill-ups.']"

EASINESS. "Plugging in" (for a plugin hybrid such as what Ford will offer) is easy when first arriving home. The cord or outlet can be on a timer that starts up at bedtime. That's an EASY way to make less of a hit on the electrical grid in the grid's prime hours AND to not forget to re-charge.

    • "10 gallons? How many times did I post it has an 8 gallon tank? Are you putting 2 in the glove box....

U always do this with the facts"
      ===================================
I asked you ahead of time NOT to play stupid. Stick to the point in the post. 8 gallons 10 gallons 189 gallons. That was not the point.
Everything in that scenario was PRETEND. I don't own a VOLT, I don't drive 8 miles to work. I don't drive 3 hours on the weekends. DO I have to go over the entire list..
It was a figure of speech to make a point.

Go ahead and change the 10 into 8.

      NOW respond.

      Jaysus Christ!

We were talking about the RANGE and the fuel going bad. Not whether I looked up in the owner's manual to see what the fuel capacity of VOLT is. Didn't realize there would be a test!

    • <<10 gallons? How many times did I post it has an 8 gallon tank? Are you putting 2 in the glove box....

John, he is lonely and wants someone to respond to him.

    • <<< Since the gas in the tank is getting old, my VOLT reminds me to drive it MORE so it can burn some of the gas before it goes bad! >>>

Are you serious? Is this how you think it works...lol....ooookkkkkk

    • 10 gallons? How many times did I post it has an 8 gallon tank? Are you putting 2 in the glove box....

    • "Oh mr. Word Smith....

      What does this mean?

<<< You run electric so you can save gas, and you save so much gas, the car tell you to keep driving so you can burn the gas you saved before it goes bad! >>>

It Implys that you think the electric range is too long cuz it doesn't burn gas...lol
Btw...that is NOT how maintance mode works...it starts the ICE regardless of battery level...same as halten mode...oops....shouldn't mention that, you don't know how that works either... "
      ======================================
This is one trait you have, I wish you would lose it. It is not becoming of you and tiresome of us who play into it. That is YOU pretending like you don't get it.
      Let's do it this way.

      I have a VOLT
I bought it so I can save the world and not burn gas.
I put 10 Gals. of Gas in it.
      I drive it EVERYDAY
      8 mile to work
      8 miles home
3 miles on the weekends for fun and groceries.
      I do this indefinitely
That is all the driving I do.
The 10 gals. of gas is STILL in the tank Getting OLD.
I am saving so much gas because 100 percent of my driving needs are met b the range capacity of VOLT.
Since the gas in the tank is getting old, my VOLT reminds me to drive it MORE so it can burn some of the gas before it goes bad!

No, none of the above implies the Electric Range is too long. Just because I am not burning gas does not mean The VOLT is now extended it range because of my driving habits. It is still 35 miles.

If I am not driving any more than what I indicated above and that is why my gas is getting old, tell me when and where is the "maint. mode" going to change that.

    • Oh mr. Word Smith....
