Think about it. If a state is not a right to work state, the gov't has taken away our rights not to belong to a union.
In a closed shop state you still have to pay dues even if you don't join.
So the state has taken away your ability to work without paying tribute to someone else to negotiate for you.
Like minimum wage laws, they take away the right of a worker and an employer to come to a private agreement about compensation that could be beneficial to both.
