    • As the cost of labor goes up companies look to automation to reduce costs. Just look on the auto assembly line, when I was a kid the line had many welders, now none-robots; the paint room han many painters, now none-robots. The coal mines had nothing but hand loaders, now almost all mechanical; 3 men run a long wall operation that mines more coal than 500 hand loaders.
      The latest thing I've heard is that McDonalds now has a completely automatic hamburger maker.
