GM announces a recall - dang it

Not a big one (69,000 units as compared to the recently announced recall by subaru at 634,000 units) but still bad. Supplier quality issue...

    • what is the supplier name? bad news is a good time to buy on the dip...

btw, blaming it on the supplier is lame. gm spec'd the part, has a supplier quality program and assembled it.

you and your gm wags have pointed this out to us on other company recalls. now it's different? not gm's fault?

      really?

You make it ever so clear that you have NO idea how the auto industry works. NO suppliers produce 100% perfect parts all the time. There are quality spills (read about toyoDUH and their gas pedal mechanism issue) and they happen, regardless of supplier quality programs in place, or ISO standards, etc.

GM is, ultimately, responsible - I get that. But, GM knows that if it is a supplier quality issue, they can recoup the costs of the recall. Still, the black eye of a recall goes to the OEM...
