Spiny Mouse - a pickup inventory post just for you

GM’s inventory of fullsize pickups, at about 97 days’ supply, is just right – not too high heading into the changeover to new models and not too low, given the current demand boom.

“We remain comfortable with our truck inventories,” he says. “We’re on plan and not contemplating any changes to production.”

58,000 trucks in February is quite far from boom times. And you can't count on a Hurricane Sandy to come every other month to goose your truck sales.

      • Looks like the Glory monthly headlines of 2012 are a thing of the past, hey web.

Toyota up 4% below analysts expectation.
Among domestic automakers, General Motors Co. posted a 7.2 percent boost in sales, beating analyst expectations.

        Among foreign carmakers:
Honda Motor Co.'s U.S. sales fell 2 percent in February, though sales of the Accord midsize sedan rose 35.2 percent.

Nissan Motor Co. said sales also fell, by 6.6 percent.

Hyundai Motor America's February sales saw 2.3 percent gain.

Kia Motors America's February sales dropped 7.8 percent.

      • Chev alone almost outsold all of Toyota brands

General Motors (GM): GM sold 224,314 cars and trucks in February, a 7.2% increase over February 2012. . Each brand under the GM umbrella saw gains in February: Chevrolet sold 158,541 vehicles to rise 4.9%; GMC was up 9.8% on 35.778 vehicles sold; Buick sold 16,150 vehicles and gained 15.2%; and Cadillac was up 20.3% with 13,845 vehicles sold. GM notes crossover sales increased 17% and truck sales grew 14%, but car sales were down 4%.

    • No they're NOT. Look, during the month of February they sold 58,039 trucks. There were 28 days in February. That's 2073 GM trucks sold per day during February.
They currently have 234,695 trucks in inventory.
At 2,073 per day, you have a 113 days supply of trucks.
Don't come around here trying to sell this 97 days BS because I'M NOT BUYING IT.
