Some good car shows on the tube....

The best one by far is "Chasing Classic Cars" on the velocity channel. Mr. Wayne is all business and definitely knows his cars. This channel also has all the Mecum Car Auctions. i ordered the channel for these two shows. The Mecum Auctions are much better than Barrett-Jackson. Less commercials and more cars going through at more reasonable prices.

Another one is "Fast and Loud". This one might be a little too crazy from some people, but i like it. Richard is the crazy boss and The Beard is his right hand man. Richard buys classic and muscle cars and the Beard and his crew do the work. The last episode had Richard buying a Silver 67, 427 Corvette that was completely stock. The engine was outside the car and he paid 38K for the car, which was a great buy. They don't have the time or the wallet to do complete restorations, so they do what they need to do and turn it over. This car definitely should of went to someone for a COMPLETE BODY-OFF RESTORATION. The engine cost them 5500 bucks to have a pro rebuild and it came back painted in the original orange color. The Beard didn't like the color (YIKES!) so poured some lacquer thinner on the valve covers to make it look more garage find stuff. Of course it peeled the paint off the valve covers and looked like #$%$, but they supposedly sold the car to a friend for a nice profit. It's a crazy show. Sometimes they make money and other times they lose their shirt. That's a real reality show if you pay too much for a car to begin with.

Another new one had its 2nd episode on CNBC last night and is also a pretty good show. For those of us who can't stand the watch the variety garbage on television, these shows are a welcome sight....
