WHEN VOLT SALES STARTED OUT SLOW...

The GM poodle-skirted pumper pimps told us, 'Give GM more time; the Prius started out slow too'.
    OK.
Fast forward to one year later.
May 2013 Volt sales are LOWER than May 2012 sales.
    That, my friends, SUCKS.
This car has been on the market since December 2010 and they only sell 1607 copies in May of 2013?

PS: Meanwhile, Tesla, whose inexperience shows in that they apparently don't know how to make excuses, introduces their Model S. Last quarter, Model S outsold Chevy VOLT, the Mercedes S-Class, the BMW 7-series, and the Audi A8.

Maybe I wrong, but you might be guilty of cherry picking the data there. The Volt is a slow selling luxury,
economy car no doubt about it But the other comparison models might be obscure products that had
substantially higher sales in other configurations. Most folks would concede that Audi, BMW and
Mercedes have been successful product lines over the years.

I called the Volt a luxury economy car so Superman wouldn't have to go to a jamboree this week end in
a bad mood. Can you imagine a scout man admitting in print to blowing smoke in his posts. That's
not doing a good turn daily!

But they outsold the Nissan Leaf big time in 2012. Now the Leaf is getting big time currency manipulation on the hood so Nissan can almost give them away.

      • "The refreshed Nissan Leaf is now being assembled on the Smyrna, Tennessee production line along with the Altima midsize sedan and Maxima full-size sedan. The battery packs, which were developed in a joint venture between Nissan and NEC, are produced on-site; the electric motors are made at Nissan’s Decherd, Tennessee powertrain plant, just 75 miles away."

Sounds like an American success story to me.
Hell, the Volt battery is not even made in America! Jeyebolt are you a commie?

No, jeyedolt, the Chevy VOLT never outsold ANYthing 'big time'. They beat the Leaf that month by a few hundred cars but they didn't outsell anything big time. Very possible VOLT won't even outsell Tesla Model S this year.

You whinge on and on about 'currency manipulation' and here's GM blatantly throwing $5000 cash back on the hood of every Chevy VOLT. What kind of manipulation would you call that? Just smart marketing? Since they're losing money on every single car, don't we call that 'dumping'?
