Course they are good ol' boys. They took a step back and declined to annihilate the Ford
Motor Co. After all, how could they keep the dues coming in and the retirees health plan paid
up, if they had put Ford under? Ford still has its share of debt to pay and it remains to be seen
if they can survive a new downturn. Did they repay the debt on that prehistoric logo? They
should have just let that go--but then, they might need to hock it again.
"Ford's debt is "right where they want it" as the level of debt they have, versus liquidity and operating capital, works well for tax reasons."
Oh, really! What is this? Modern accounting? Like they do in Detroit City? And practically every
where else? When tight money hits again as it invariably does, I bet you they won't like it. But,
like you say, they can always hock that ugly logo again. Even Cadillac has a more appealing logo
than Ford. Ford's is the pits--even worse that the bow tie.
Bunky, you really need to extract yourself from the time-warp that you're in. Times have changed, the world marches on.
I like you, really--you're a decent person at heart, just misguided. You don't want associate with the ignorant and prejudiced bashing crowd here who can't get basic facts straight even with the convenience of Google at hand.
Please pull up the shades and let some sunlight into your world.
