That's good advice. Start with a large fortune, listen to me, and make a small fortune. Then enjoy both your large and small fortunes at once.

As long as one is willing to wait for years and years. If, however, you are the type to invest for say, a year at a time, well, not too good. You failed to note both gold deterioration as well as GM gains. The GM miss can be explained by your revulsion of all things GM.

Care to explain your miss on gold? IMO, it stems from your simple minded theory that gold is merely the reciprocal of the dollar, i.e., dollar goes down, gold goes up.

Wrong, it's not that simple as is evident now. You assume that the dollar is the basis of all value measurement and as you have even claimed before, not so much anymore. The domestic economic situation (which got slightly better), the global economic situation (again, at least stabilized), and the threat of rising interest rates all have an effect. Not since the dollar was taken off the gold standard has there been a direct relationship between the two.

I know, I know. We just have to wait, but a real investor will want to know how long.

With new launches in both its pickup trucks and hybrid segments, General Motors has an excellent opportunity to secure revenue growth in the years to come. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado could help the company take the number one spot from Ford in the pickup truck segment. The Volt might also prove to be tough competition for the bestselling Prius. These developments will eventually have positive effects on its balance sheet and stock price movement. The stock has provided 57.20% returns to its shareholders in the past one year -- this impressive performance is expected to continue in the years to come based on its various new launches and long-term sales target.
