Know this is probably not the correct board for this, but interested to know if anyone has had trouble with new GM cars headlights fogging up? Drove the car about a 100 miles and the headlights were fogged up.
Just bought a new Cadallic and the dealer says that the headlights having moisture inside of the lens and fogging up is a common problem and no cause for concern. Another GM dealer told me it is a very common problem with most all GM vechicles.
Just doesn't seem right to me and maybe a real concern of future problems with light bulbs and electric wiring.
Any comments appreciated.
I don't know how prolific it is with GM cars, but headlights fogging up is not a good thing. It reduces the amount of distance that the light can emit as well as interfere with the refraction in the lense and how the light is directed.
Yes, it is caused by moisture being in the headlight and this should not be happening. The headlight assembly should be completely water tight and the seal at the bulb seat should be as well.
